I'll be doing the rear brakes on my car before the snow flies . Are the 2.3 and 5.0 drums the same ? I don't want to swap to disc or 5 lug . Just rebuild whats there so they are new and work well . Not going Turbo or V6/V8 either . I am sure I will swap up to 4 lug GT front brakes later .

According to post #4 in that thread, they are the same.
Are you getting them for free? I don't really see the point in upgrading the rear drums with rear drums, even if they're off a 5.0.

Bigger drums should stop better . Not getting anything for free just wondering before I remove the drums and check . Unless the self adjusters are locked and not working or just need bleeding . I'll check in any case . When I step on the brakes it feels like they let go and free wheel before activating . Uncomfortable at the least . Good working rear drums in good working order will stop these cars well enough .

Agreed. Just thought it probably isn't worth it if you're paying for them, IMO.
