Ever since I installed my LT headers I got two codes P0153 and P0133 (I think), 02 sensor slow response time. For the past month or so, whenever I start my car when its cold (IE going to work, coming home from work) for the first 5 min or so it hesitates really bad and sometimes dies coming to a stop. Can these codes cause this problem? Or should I start looking at something else? I just put in a new fuel filter and spark plugs....

Any suggestions?

the o2 sensors are farther away from the engine so they take a little longer to warm up so yeah, i'd say they're related

Ok, thats a relief. I'm getting my xcal2 back in the mail this week so I am going to get a tune from MD to hopefully correct this problem and add a little power to boot!

they can help this problem in the tune by changing some parameters in the tune. Also you can try to wrap the headers to retain more heat.

yep a custom tune can help with this

also OEM ford o2 sensors seem to work best with LT headers

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I got a custom tune for my car and the codes didnt go away.. What else can I look at? I used the 02 extensions that came with the headers and I still have the factory 02s that came with the car. I hate to ask, but could an exhaust leak before the 02 cause this? What about after the 02?

try new o2's, wrap the headers and no a leak would have a different set of codes

Alright, I will try a new set of 02s on Saturday. MD is suppose to call me back tomorrow to let me know if there is anything left to do tune wise. This is truly an annoying problem. I wish I would have thought of getting them jet hot coated before I installed them!

damn i wish i had seen this before i posted a new thread, im having the same problem except i only get the p1033, passenger side 02

My tuner told me that what you guys are telling me is not true and that the 02 was bad so i replaced it and i still have the problem, so i guess you guys are right and hes wrong which suprises me because he has been tuning nothing but lightnings and mustangs for years
