Are these double valve springs?

Can anyone tell the make or rate by just the picture by chance? Only thing I can tell is the painted yellow strip on each of the springs.

Uh...yes they are double valve springs. You can clearly see both the inner and outer spring, and the damper.

The brand/spring rate is practically impossible to tell just by looking at the spring.

Can't tell? Hmm I would think the yellow would designate which spring rate they are depending on manufacturer no? I will email TFS (rockers I have) I guess and see if they color code the springs or not

a double spring is just that, 2 springs. If you look at the inner one it's just a flat coiled piece of spring steel..more like a damper and i'm pretty sure it's OEM

Look past the damper,there is another small inner spring.

Did the spring come on these heads or are they your springs?

I got yellow marks on the track heat springs I got,witch are good to .600 lift at thier installed heigth.

Sorry I cant tell you anything more right now,looks like there site has been redisinged and doesnt have all the info avaliable anymore (it similar to Summits site,witch owns TrickFlow if you didnt already know).

I bought the car with this engine and now that I am breaking the motor down I am discovering all the parts that are installed. So I'm not sure where they came from, only that the heads have TFS 1.6 rockers so I was taking a chance that they were TFS.

No I didn't know Summit owned Trick Flow.

The Trick Flow web site is new but if you look under Engine components you can find some info on them, if they are trick flow heads. They should have a part # on them. Dual springs are good for .600" of lift.

maybe, just maybe the yellow paint is a mark to check for coil bind when they are tesing the springs. You can't tell very many aspects about a spring by looking at it, except for double/single/beehive, etc.

If I recall the TFS heads had a 986 Comp spring good to .560 lift at a 1.800 install height

Those look almost identical to mine and i was told mine are Comp cams springs....but then again springs are springs unless they're the beehive style or something...like they said it's pretty much impossible to tell by looking at them.

sorry, i only looked at the first spring..they are doubles and i would assume they are good to .550-.575" lift
