Are these the micky thompson drag radial's everyone is talking big bout? I heard a guy at PIR lowered his times by 2 tenth's by switching to these instead of his slick's? http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=202489&prmenbr=361. If not then what were they that he had? Possibly a part number would be great? peace

Thoe are the new ones. I don't know how well they do compared to a slick, but compared to any other drag radial they are supposed to be unmatched.

Those are the ones. I bought a set. They bite well, better than the BFG's I've owned in the past. However, my 60's are still better with slicks and ET streets, but not by much. I have all of these tires (including Hoosier slicks), and have used them all on the same car. That's pretty strong evidence.
Be sure you get the correct diameter for your application no matter what you buy because your gear ratio could be affected. Try to use a 15 inch wheel so you get a sufficiently high sidewall to allow some flex . That will help your suspension take-the-hit and aid your 60 ft times. If you go with low profile ones, they won't bite as well.

So what do you suggest on a S/N 95 with a 5spd. and 3.55 gear's? All i have are 17x9 wheels to put them on? peace

Phil (PCinPDX) went 11.008 on the 235/60-15 M/T drag radials friday night, right around 2-thenths quicker than he had run previously on his 9" hoosier slicks. But to qualify that the slicks were pretty old. They were the first pair that I had ever bought, and then I sold them to Will (TurboSnake95) who used them for at least a year before he gave them to Phil. I'd say the slicks were probably 4+years old and well past their prime.

John, the 275/40-17's should work pretty well for you if you have to stick to a 17" wheel, but I think you'd be better off picking up a cheap pair of 15" wheels to put a pair of 275/50-15's on if you're really wanting to go with a big tire. Or alternately the little 235/60-15 that phil was running has shown to be a very good tire, I know at least 3 people locally who are putting down 1.6X 60's with the small tires, and then if you wanted to run in the Heads-Up Nortwest drag radial class you'll allready have a legal tire.

I agree with Pog above.

The 17 inch MT's will be better than street tires, but 15's would be another step or two in the right direction. With 235 60 15's you won't have any trouble with clearance. Use 275 50's if you are going to use a 9 inch wide rim. I do not know how much clearance you have with an SN wheel well. Someone should have some prior knowledge on that. If you already have the 17's you'll need to factor that into the cost issue.

The 275's will fit on an SN with no issue what so ever, on a 9" or 10" wheel. Won't even require any clearancing. I've got 28X11.5 Hoosier QTP's and 10" wheels with 6.5" backspace on the cobra right now and haven't touched a thing as far as tire clearance. People have even fit 325/50-15's without too much trouble in the larger wheel wells of the 94+ cars.

Well the meats on the ass end are just over 13" wide

funny cause with these verse's the nitto D/R's that were 275/45/17 i went from a 13.9 with the d/r's to a 14.5 with the current tire's pictured above? Why? Could be the weight , not as good of burn out (to expensive) or maybe the fact it's a street tire? Anyway's the micky's will have to wait i'm doing the head's intake and the bottle and hoping for high high 11's????? Well see? peace
