I'm looking into the Visonik 318XT to run 2 Infinity Perfect 10.1 in a sealed box. The amp runs 800 RMS at 2 ohms. Good enough for the subs.

I've never heard of them before but I know I can get them for around 130 on ebay.

Has anyone had any experience with these?

They're OK, but they'll only do rated power at 17V. You'll get <500 watts out of that at 13.x, where a normal car would be.

I'd love to be an audiophile but my wallet/wife/children will not allow it. Therefore I have to do what I can to get by. I'm thinking that I can get a "cheaper" amp now and later I'll spend some real money on a better amp.

What about this amp http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220002730416

I consider that one to be the same. Most amps come from 3 manufacturers in Korea,Namsung,Soundtech or ???. so your getting pretty much the same quality unless its a high end like Mcintosh or tube type amps.

Chunglams. They' aren't nearly all the same quality, though. Memphis amps are Korean made, so are Visonik. Which would you rather have?

Send me a Memphis and I'll tell you which I would like to use

I don't know. I'm still debating. I really don't want to spend over $150 right now so I might just have to stick with the profile and just pump 250 watts to each speaker.

Do you guys think that a profile amp will be better than say an audiobaun amp? Remember I'm just a guy wanting some clear bass in my car. I don't need to be the loudest guy on the block.

Profile are seriously not bad amps. You can also get refurbs for next to nothing from their homepage. Try it out.

I think you should save your cash and buy a good amp from U.S.Amps, there hand made right here in the good ol' USA down in sunny Florida, my cousin ran those for years with a pair of 1st gen. Orion XTR 15's, the only other brand of amps he would use were Orion amps. I, on the otherhand am poor, so I am running a Visonik Monoblock (300 watts), but given the choice I'd run a U.S.Amp. They were the spl leaders for years and years, VERY reliable. And really cool running amps. They have a little palm tree that lights up on the side when the power is on

Too late. I bought a Profile amp. AP1000M I think is the model number. It will do the job for now.

USAmps are no longer built or even managed in Florida. A select few are made in the US, but most are now made in China and Korea. They're still nice, though. Actually, the only truly US made amps that I can think of still are Lunar and Zed. I think Boston gets theirs made here, but I'm unsure.
