ARI Mustang on Ebay

I have posted this in talk as well. Not sure how many people know about these cars, but this is probably one the rarest Mustangs in existance.

Thought you may want to take a look. Shots are old, and look like they have been scanned from paper pictures.

Wish I had the money.

For nostalgic reasons I find the car very cool. However, I would never pay 200K for a car I couldn't even drive. A trailer queen to only stare at and brag about just doesn't appeal to me. I'll take an F430 for that kind of dough.

Neat bit of history though.

Ture, but if you take a look at the car underneath, sure doesn't look like a trailer queen. Looks like it has been out on the road.

PS, I bet that car will go for more than $200K, probably off of Ebay.

I have been following these cars for years. I was hoping to but the one that is on the last link, the 351 Fastback.

I do not know Mr. Weiss, but I can assure you there is nothing fishy about it.

I was just hoping that as classic owners you would find this piece of Mustang History something real interesting. Being a Mustang owner for almost 20 years, this isn't your typical Mustang, including Shelby's. It is a piece of History.

I don't doubt the authenticity of the car or it's rarity...just seems strange that someone selling a $200K car posts pictures from an old magazine instead of a whole bunch of high res pics from every angle. If I were selling a car for the price of a house, I'd do a little better marketing job

Seems like a car of that calibar would bring more interest and bang for the buck on a major auction circuit. All the big whales getting caught up in the live action instead of an ebay auction.

It is an amazing piece of history and a beautiful car... But I would want to drive it all the time if I had that kind of cash.

Some of the cars listed in the URL's above are simply amazing!

All convertibles are known today. 4 in the US, 1 in Norway. Yes, thats mine ;-)

If you have any question about the American Raceway Inc, ARI, please ask. And for those of you who think that the pics are crappy. Well, let me tell you that the car is far from crappy ;-)

Not all the ARI Mach 1/fastbacks has been found yet.
If you want to know what VIN# to look for, yes you could ask for them too ;-)

Didn't know the 5th one has been located. When and where?

I really enjoyed reading the story how you aquired yours. Although I like the color of Bruce's, I really like the one you have a shot of during the resto at Semo's.

I wish I had a chance to drive up and see Bruce's car in person. I am about 100 miles south of him.

I know some people have a ton of money laying around, but to most people $200,000 is a lot of money to spend on a car. To spend that much money - the car must be very important to you. Also, you're paying a huge premium for low miles, the car will no longer be worth nearly as much if you start driving it and putting a bunch of miles on it. In addition, most people who value a collector car so much that they spend 6 figures on it to get a low mileage version will think that it would be wrong to "destroy" the car by driving it. Most of those people buy the car to have it and show it, not to drive it. They may even think of it as an investment which they expect to be worth more money in the future. Driving the car goes against all those things.

However, if you have a lot of extra money laying around, it's a free country. Go ahead. Or buy a cheaper less collectible car and build it to run and drive better than the ARI Mustang and send me the extra $100,000 or so. :SNSign:

I would think to most people buying a $200K collector car, $200K is not alot

As far as investments go, any car is most likely not a very good one. And when they're super rare and desired, the title and VIN that's worth the money.

I don't have that kind of disposable income. And if I did, I'd get a nice '67 BB Convertible Vette and drive the piss out of it.

Personally, I would rather spend $200k or more on a car that is fun to drive also. I'm sure a '70 428 CJ Mustang 'vert is fun, but only until you try to turn it.

A Cobra, 250GTO, or even Boss 302 sounds more attractive to me. Just IMO.

Man, we used to own the Michigan car -- don't remember what we sold it for, but it sure as hell was waaaaay less than $200k!! That was probably 15 years ago though, before all of this silliness started.
