I need to know if purchasing a new set of ARP main cap studs (154-5401 on summitracing.com) is necessary when also purchasing a Trick Flow Main Cap Girdle (TFS-51500700). It seems that the girdle comes with some bolts, and I believe they are replacement main cap bolts. I want ARP studs, though, and I need to know if the ones I listed are long enough to use with the girdle.

... and then i think to myself, "why in the christ do i actually need a main cap girdle? i'm not racing this thing, and i doubt i'll be making the motor scream anywhere near 7k rpm, cause i want to keep it for a good bit".

So, with that said, lets just pretend i never asked

Main cap girdles only help hold the halves together after the block splits. Don't bother with one. Do a search on www.turbomustangs.com to find out how effective they are.

Yep... it's akin to wearing a seatbelt during a plane crash. Only used to keep you in place so they can identify you.
I'd skip that step and keep the tune good and don't rev her to the moon and you'll be safe enough IMO.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
