So finally I got a chance to have a quasi-decent photoshoot of my car.

I used my GF's Canon Powershot Digital Elph SD600.

I'm in Galveston TX, the weather is about 65 degrees with temps falling throughout the photoshoot and with a high level of humidity making for an interesting hazy setting (which hides the dirt on the car real well I must say). It's 5:30 PM

Nice photoshoot man, I finaly ordered up the same rims but gunmetal in staggerd with 255s and 275s from latemodelrestoration. Looks good, wish I had texas weather to do my photoshoot!! haha

Thats where I got my wheels from. Mine are actually black chrome wheels, the great thing about them is that when they get dirty they look gunmetal. If I was to clean them up you'd see they'd be totally different.

nice setup:nice: i was just looking at those wheels a few days ago and in serious consideration about getting them. how you like the black chrome? ive never seen them up close. is the whole wheel black including the lip? its hard to tell from the pics. what brand of tire did you get? thx

05wolfkiller it's hard to describe Black Chrome. It's just amazing really but it's a look that I have to tell you it grows on you, you won't like it at first. I was originally going to go for the black with polished lip, but then I saw them up close and I thought that the glossy black finish looked.... cheap so I went with black chrome. When the wheel is clean it can look from black, to polished, to chrome depending how the light hits it. This is really noticeable if you have staggered rims. The wider rears get less light then the shallow fronts so they look mostly black while the fronts look chrome. Hard to explain so here's a picture for reference.

What is cool though is when the wheels are dirty they turn into a solid gunmetal color so they never look bad unless you cake them in mud.

Hobo I got a good deal from them though I'm a little bit iffy about their service department especially after I had an appointment once and drove from Galveston to Conroe to make it only to see them close shop and go home ahead of schedule and all I wanted was an oil change. I guess it's good to know insiders.

I've been waiting for someone to post pics of a s197 with FR500s... that looks great. I have seriously been considering those wheels.

Have been wondering how the black chrome looks myself. Nice ride man.

Great looking car.
Personally, I would look for simplier backgrounds for the photos. You want your car to be the focal point, not others. The ocean would be better, for example.
Some photos to me also appear a bit underexposed (too dark) and a bit fuzzy.
There's a whole thread on photography you might want to look at.
Car looks great, though.

You definitely need to get out of automatic mode on that camera and turn the ISO down. Change to manual. Manual on that camera really isn't complicated at all. You just get to pick your image quality, white balance, etc... You don't want to be shooting in anything higher than 400. I prefer 100 or 200 for outdoor photos. Also, turn them on vivid. This should dramatically help your photos. The weather actually could have made for some interesting photos if done right. Also, you want to take a few and see how they're coming out. If they look dark like that, you can bump the exposure compensation up in manual mode also.

Otherwise, car looks great. But lets get some better pictures!

The car was dirty as hell so I opted more for fuzzy nondescript shots to hide it on purpose. This is something I just whipped up in a second since I just happened to have a camera while I was there :)

Galveston's water is more like 95% oil waste and 5% water it's nasty!

galveston is actually an island that sits basically on the texas coast in the middle of the gulf of mexico. like walter said brown marshy water. not a great beach at all. especially if youve been to florida! but hey at least its not snowing/freezing cold:nice:
