Audio help for the hopelessly confused.

Hi all--

Q: What is a good lower cost deck that will fit in my glove box? My aged Sony (with a cassette deck) [HANGS HEAD IN SHAME] needs replacing. I don't need much power as I have two 6X9's in the back and, eventually, will have two 6 inch speakers in the kick panels. The only requirement is a way to plug in my iPod and a remote (since it is hidden in the glove box). All of my music is on my iPod.

Alpine? Sony? Blaupunkt? What? I just don't know where to start.

Advice? What to consider? What to stay away from?

wait so you need the headunit in the glove box or the ipod in the glovebox?

Head in the glove box--replace the old sony that I have in the glove box--and the ipod wired in to the head. It can live outside the glove box. That I don't mind.
