Aug 6, SIR, Fastest Street Car Shootout

I see in the SIR program there is a "Fastest Street Car Shootout" scheduled for August 6. Some of us from Calgary are thinking of coming out there at least one weekend this summer to see what SIR is like and enjoy the low elevation, and this looked like it might be a good weekend. My question is, does anyone know anything about this event? I couldn't find rules, classes, or anything. Is it a heads up elimination drag race with several classes or what?

I'd appreciate any feedback.

SIR's web site doesn't give any details, that's why I'm asking here. Also, if I read the web site correctly, there is no friday night racing on the August 6 weekend. Do they only race every other friday night there or something?

As far as I know, it's not every Friday night, it's usually two Fridays per month.

the fastest street car shootout is a blast,i have gone for the last 2 years to this-its heads up racing on a pro tree first car to the end wins,there are usually about 5 classes,radial tire class,engine only class,diesel truck class and 2 other classes for more racier cars-to get the correct details i think brian at performance plus in saskatoon usually sets this up(www.performanceplus.com),it would be great to see more cars out for this

I'm going out to Waskasiu(sp?) to go camping the first week of August. I should see if the wife will let me bring the car along. I'd love to see what it would do at SIR.
