For sale to the public? I've never heard about any (but maybe some Ford exec. had JC toss an auto in one, I dunno).
All '93-'04 Cobra's came with a manual...just the way it should be.

No SVT Cobra has ever come from the factory with an automatic. The only automatics that SVT has ever put in a vehicle has been in the Lightnings.

Somebody either swapped in some AODE from another Stang or it is a clone of some sort.

I can't see it. Unless they liked to take it to the strip or maybe the felt it was easier to launch the IRS in regular street driving. Because of this, I would be leary, to say the least.

Actually I do believe that there were a select few Cobras that come with automatics. They were the ones that were used for Pace cars I think in 94 with the new body style....

I could be wrong on this though..

It does seem like I remember that the actual pace cars were automatic, but none of the replicas sold to customers were automatic. They, as with every single OFFICIAL SVT Cobra, were manual tranny only. However, I have heard of a few swaps by customers to automatic. I'd suppose with the right gearing, it wouldn't be so bad IF you've got to have an automatic...but that automatic would definitely kill any collectibility (if there is any) in the future. Now, from what I've read, the torquey 03/04 Mach 1s with the 4.6 DOHC and automatics are quite strong considering that Ford automatic Mustangs have always played second fiddle to their manual brothers. Probably not as fun, but that would be my game if I were hunting for a near stock automatic Mustang.
