I am trying to find a shift kit for my car. Right now I plan on getting 4.10 gears.. I dunno if that plays a role in anything but where can I find a shift kit?

do a search for the Jerry Mod. get the 4.10s, Jerry Mod, and get a tranny cooler.

read the article titled "Modifying Valve Body to Jerry's specifications-Jerry's Mod".

I was wondering about shift kits too, specifically steedas shift kit. I was under the impression that it was an electronic modification. I called steeda and they told me its mechanical and you have to actually install it in the tranny. Transmission work scares me, so I backed down like a little panzy...

if you'd like firmer shifts, you can get a chip or reflash to raise the line pressure in the transmission. no internal work needed.

You will need to flash your ECU or get a chip when you do the 4.10's to correct your speeedo. You can firm your shifts with either a flasher or chip.

I went with the flasher option. I can adjust the firmness in 2 minutes from the driver's seat. And when I go to Ford for service or maintenance, I can clear it out.
