ok guys i need to know what all would be needed to convert an auto stang to a manual.

heres what i have

Tremec 3650 trans
stock crossmember
stock driveshaft
stock shift fork
McCleod clutch disc

heres what i think would be needed for the swap

pedal assembly from a manual ($100 from junk yard?)
clutch quadrant firewall adjuster and clutch cable ($100 new)
throw out bearing ($20 new)
pressure plate ($150 for a new Mccleod)
shift knob ($50 for a nice aftermarket one)

i am trying to put together an entire kit to swap my old trans into an auto car so let me know if i'm missing anything.

thanks
Ben

i'm assuming that the reverse lights and the speed sensor would be the same. what would i have to do to bypass the park/neutral safety switch?

i really dont think the swap would be very hard to do. i remember that someone on here went from an auto to a 6 speed so i know taht it is at least possible. i just need all the parts to be here b/c i will probably be doing the swap myself and i dont need to be out running around looking for parts all day.

I have a stock one and a stock clutch....50ish K. Otherwise if you want a new one, may just want to go with Ford...probably wouldnt be too pricy.

gotta get the tranny harness, ecu (not necessary, you can remove the shift points if im thinking right, but if you can get one cheap may as well), clutch pivot ball, might need the little square dust boot for the bottom of the tranny over the fork, interior boot and rubber boot under that would be a good idea, gonna have to look for flywheel bolts, with my fidanza-- can be a big pia in my experience (used head bolts from an old taurus lol), pilot bearing, that should just about cover it besides what was already said. there are always the little odds and ends you will have to chase. good luck, you will enjoy it im sure
