Auto to T56 transmission

I have a 2000 gt mustang with nitrous hookup. Im looking to put a T56 transmission in it so i have some fun driving a 6 speed instead of this boring automatic. It has a shift kit in it now but im ready to take the transmission out and put a 6 speed in it. Does anyone know if this is possible and how much it could cost if i could find a used 6 speed and maybe another type than just a t56? Thanks!

Search for my posts about it. I list all the parts for a trans swap. T56 is much more expensive than 3650. The 3650 swap will cost over 2k in parts. T56 probably double that depending on the price u pay for trans and custom driveshaft.

Personally I think the t-56 is worth the extra money. I put a t-56 in my 87 back in 1999 and when I bought my 88 back in 2003 it went in there and I love it and I get over 26 mpg on the highway

i have a low budget so i need to stay cheap for a good bang. WOuld you trust a used transmission and should i go with a 5 speed or 6 speed?

"low budget" and auto-to-manual trans swap hardly ever fall into the same sentence unless you have a donor car ready to go and you do most, if not all, the work yourself.

Don't want to burst your bubble but it takes alot more time, money and labor than people realize (assuming T-56 and no donor Cobra). Not saying it can't be done, just ain't easy
