Guys,

I dropped my keys down next to my seat...so I pushed the seat all the way forward with the automatic button and once it got to the end it stopped. I got the keys and when I tried to push the seat back, it won't go anywhere. I squeezed into the seat to try to push it back but it won't budge at all.

So apparently the gears are stripped or something because the motor runs, it just won't grab onto the track or something. Is there any kind of release or way to align it again even with warn/stripped gears inside?

Any help would be appreciated as I can't drive the damn thing at all right now and it's a holiday weekend...ahhhh!

Thanks.

Well that sucks ! I am having problems with my girls 95 that has the stripped gear on the seat track too. It seems to catch if you try & move it back and forth and press hard on it at the same time. I am trying to figure out how to replace the gear out right now. If anybody has done this before I need to know how to get the gear out of the seat track

C/P from a thread, this should help you !

Its probably the gear in the front driver's side corner. If you look under the seat you can see it spinning. If it happens to get stuck forward, you can take a star shaped socket and take off the back bracket (once you look you'll know what I mean) to get the seat off. You'll undertand that, too, if it gets stuck forward, because you can't reach the bolt/nut in back to remove the seat.

I ended up getting it 'unstuck' by shaking the crap out of it side to side (not front to back like previously posted) so apparently the gear isn't lined up correctly and its slipping off to one side. I'm definitely going to have to replace that gear though...I can't have that happening again. Thanks 88...I'll give that a try.

a lot of times one side of the seat will move forward and the other will slow down causing the seat to move diagonally and get stuck, this is what happened to me. I was able just to push on one side to get it unstuck... if all else fails, it's really easy to take the whole seat out and look at it (2 bolts, 2 nuts, 1 unplugged wire)
