Autometer Speedo

im putting all autometer gagues im 67 vert i havent got the speedo its on back order (go figure) anyway does the stock speedo cable work with it or do i need a special cable and anyone got any idea what gear im gonna need with a t5 3.80 gears and a 27 inch wheel thanks for the help  :D

My Autometer speedo works with the 69 cable. It doesn't really snap in or anything it kinda just sits there but it works fine. It bounces some until about 30 MPH. I dont have a T5 but did change gear ratio, I just did some math and figured how far off it is so I know what speed I'm going.

i thought autometer made cables or adapters of some sort. what method are you using to fit the gauges? and is it the big 5" speedo? i'm in limbo with mine, but i am doing the autometer set in my dash. if you need any ideas, foghorn had some good pics of how he got his in. ultrastang did it as well.

I did the same thing in my '67 vert and chose the elctronic speedo. It has the bility to be calibrated on demand by the driver. My car had too many variables to even want to TRY and find the right cable-gears (wrong wheels, tires, tranny, ring-and-pinion, etc.).

Since they have not shipped your speedo yet you can probaly change the order

The easiest solution to the cable is to go to the auto parts store and ask them for a cable of similar length to yours that has the screw on ends at both ends. I think I used one from a late 70s vette

mine is similar to Edbert's dash but with black gauges and a camera case pod and i used 2 1/6 litle gauges im using the mechanical speedo because its 100$ cheaper and it should be in alredy im gonna pick it up tomm i hope:) thanks and my cable alredy has screw down ends hopefully it will work :)
