autometer tach help

hows it going guys, i kinda got it down on the install of my new tach, but i know many people have done it a bit diffrently, so i thought id ask anyway. what is the easy way to install one? now on the paper it came with said to hook up to negative side of coil where is that located, sorry i am a newb at this.

The coil should be behind a plastic shroud in the drivers side strut tower towards the front of the car. someone correct me if i'm wrong but i believe it is the green/yellow wire. I went right to the coil and spliced it into the factory harness with solder and shrink wrap

The coil connector even has a + and - on it IIRC (I could be thinking of some other car however). The wire you want is the one that does NOT show constant 12V with the key on.
