Autotap, is it worth it?

Is autotap worth the price? I would be buying this also

Any help is appreciated :nice:

Absolutely! I got mine after a bad experience at the local Ford dealer when I found out the hard (and expensive) way that many of their so called technicians have no clue what they are doing when it comes to troubleshooting the engine control/emission systems. I also acquired the 98 Powertrain Control/Emissions Dianostic manual. I now not only have the ability to read the codes, I can also perform many of the same tests the dealer does to isolate the fault. I don't have the ability to do all of them, because my pockets aren't deep enough to by the tester they use for much of it, but I can look at all of the sensor inputs, as well as monitoring the commands being sent to the injectors/coil packs. If you are just looking for a code reader, you can find cheaper ones though. :nice:

Thanks Sam :nice:

I like it mainly because it can turn off the check engine light, and I can use a palm pilot and it'll give realtime feedback with MPH, RPM, and other things. Looks cool, its a nice bragging piece :D Anyone know any other, or cheaper, program for Palm Pilots that will monitor car statistics?

:jaw: THat is awesome. I watched the video, and it seems like it is a bargain at 199 + the 99 for the extras. Im assuming the extras are monitoring air fuel, boost, etc???? I WANT ONE!!!!

You generally only get what you pay for, and no matter what software you have, you can only monitor parameters that the PCM has sensors for. Autotap also has a version of the software that looks at the enhanced OBD-II parameters. The PCM is not capable of monitoring boost, but does monitor the O2 sensors and MAF voltage. :D
