anyone know any good autocross forums? Anyone into autocrossing? Why dont we have an autox section on stangnet? Im going to start autoxing in a month or two and I know nothing about it besides what I read i books, but nothing for MY car.

BTW Mob, I can tell you right now that you may want to consider changing your front wheel and tire setup for better grip in the corners. That will help prevent understeer and promote later braking.

An autocross track is set up usually in an open parking lot or on a small airport runway and the course is set up and marked off using cones and you must get through the cone course with a good time without hitting any of the cones...hit a cone and time gets deducted from your final time.
Grand Turismo is not autocross.

There are corners and you do have to turn...but to compare an autocross event to Gran Turismo style racing is not correct. If you do not agree then go to www.wikipedia.com and type in "autocross" and see what it brings up and the pictures it shows.
Open track racing is most like Gran Turismo.
So are you saying that any car racing event that involves turning should be considered autocross?

There are corners involved...I'll give you that much! Now if we can only get those NASCAR guys to realize that they are actually autocrossing then we might be ok.....

Those are just my drag wheels, My normal wheels are 17x9 cobra r's.

Yea, My tires are bald, so before I went Id HAVE TO get new tires, and make sure my battery in the trunk is secured to pass tech, its kinda just hanging out back there in the box. I just put my sway bar back on yesterday, big difference, makes me want to take corners as fast as i can haha. Id really like to get strange struts and shocks before I went also but not necessary, I will also NEED new brake pads before I went. But it is definatly my goal to go by the end of the year.
Oh and grand turismo is more of circuit/road racing, autocross is, like said before, a big open parking lot with cones set up.
damn that corner carvers site is impossible to get into, not worth it lol im not gonna be on there anyways, but I found out corral has a autox section so if i have questions ill ask there. Im just going to get new tires and new end links for my sway bar becuase mine are bent and I dont have any bolts to hold the sway bar on to it and im going to head out to an autox course. Theres one every month about 2 hours from here. I cant wait, I might go this saturday just to watch.

The Corral has an awesome autox forum, lots of good info and great people. Corner-Carvers.com is awesome site for in depth technical info, but be warned that it is not the place to go and post **** every day - they will ban you real quick. Unless your an engineer, your pretty much in it for the read on CC.com
