I was searching google for 83 mustang in images and thsi popped up, here's the picture and the explaination...

The owner of a Ford Mustang rushes away from her car after the vehicle cought fire just south of Jensen Beach Blvd and US 1. The driver and a passenger were traveling north on US 1 when flames started to come out from under the hood of the car. No one was injured.

Looks like the brake fluid caught on fire or something, thats all i can think of thats over there.

I'd probably consider the same if I didn't have my fire extinguisher w/me at the time.

reminds me of the time we put a 100 shot of nos to my stock 89 mazda 626 with the factory turbo, the solenoids stuck up so high we had to take the hood off and when i hit the juice the fuel hose blew off, it shot a flame 5 foot high

You gys are wondering what caused the fire? Well, let me just tell you I lost a 91 GT to that exact same thing. Good old quality ford ignition switches, yes there was a recall, did they tell me? No.

My old boss was telling me he had a 91 vert he bought brand new he was driving it and the airbag blew off in his face and he wrecked the car because of it.

i dont like airbags, i'd rather get whiplash than have one of them go off in my face, i guess they help but we set 2 off in auto shop with a plastic garbage can on top and it shot the can up a good 20ft and dented the bottom...ouch
