ok so im burning more oil then i should be, its a stock 5.0 and when i checked the dip stick it had a little tear drop at the end of the dip stick so im guessing it needs 4qt to be where it should. i did my last oil chenge about 2 months a go.
now what could be some causes for this?? car has 83,000miles on it, im scared my lower end might be gone cuz it had a bad harmonic bal and i just replaced that 4 weeks ago. so what do you think? thank you

oh and as far as i know theres no smoke out of the tail pipes! if that helps but theres is carbon but i would guess thats fuel right?

rear main seal leaking maybe?

check the compression and do a leak down test on each cylinder. Mine will burn about a liter of oil per 60miles

if it's on the bottom of the dipstick it probably needs about 2 quarts not 4.

lol
needing to add 4qts would leave only 1qt in the pan/filter/block...

Find out where the oil is going...
Likely causes are
external leak which will make a mess of the block and leave puddles on the ground.
or
faulty pcv system causing oil to be pushed out of the crankcase into the intake manifold
