Ok, Im thinking about putting an axle back on the 07. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for this. What systems make just a good tone but not excessively loud. I was looking at flowmasters because thats what I have on my 90 but its extremely loud because of how I have it set up. I'd like to have a vehicle that just gives a nice little tone but doesn't sound like a race car really. Thanks!!

Keep the stock mufflers and get an O/R H pipe.

I did. No resonance but a little too quiet so I took them off, sold them and had a custom pair made up in stainles steel. Sounded louder but you know what... after a few weeks they sound quiet too!

The Corsas are also very heavy (20lbs a side) and a lot heavier than stock (15-16lbs a side).

I kept the Corsa X-pipe though.

+1!
I ran that setup for about a month while I was waiting for my replacement Flows. Actually suprised me how well it sounded under a load and WOT. Unlike most axle backs, the O/R H will net you around 8-10 HP. That combo will give you a good sound with no drone at all and cost less than $200. That will save money for your tuner which will shock you on the difference.

Here are two videos while IWAS RUNNING THE O/R H and stock mufflers.

Kooldawg, what is the sound difference between the factory mufflers and the flows with the o/r H. I'm kinda worried when i put my H on that i'm going to get pulled over for noise. I might have to throw the stockers on.

its all perference! For a daily driver (my 07 is), I don't want a lot of drone and I want it pretty quiet on the highway. The Borla/FRPP has some drone on the highway between 60-70 that I am not happy about, but until I save enough money for the Corsas this will do.

It makes a huge difference. It will be very loud with the combo. I love it I've never had an issue with the police, but I have babied it everytime I'm near one Flows with O/R H pipe.

Yes finally someone agrees with me. The orginal poster asked for an axle back that would have a good tune and not like a race car.

Corsa axle back and x pipe is pretty loud from the outside, I was surprised the difference from in the car and outside of it. So I am saving up for corsa x and axle back or maybe santa will bring it to me who knows.

I have the Magnaflows and luv em. The sound is not much louder than stock when first installed, but really wake up after a few hundred miles. They've got a deep, tuned sound and have no drone whatsoever at highway speeds. I put on some SLP Loudmouths a while back and quickly switched back to my Magnaflows. The SLPs were far too loud and simply obnoxious sounding. The Magnaflows sounded like music in comparison. Plus, they have the absolute best looking tips you'll find and are stainless throughout.

Yes our axle back is one of the more mellow sounding systems on the market. If you have any questions on our products feel free to ask.

You're on crack if you think you gained 21 horsepower because of the axleback you chose... Just FYI.

Really! I would hope I got that much gain from a full exhaust swap using LTs staying N/A...

Also, is your car a manual and his an auto????? That makes a huge difference as the autos are nearly 15-20 HP lower.

I just recently put the SLP loudmouths on my car. I LOVE the sound, and personally don't think its as loud as most people make it out to be, especially driving normally rather than as if you stole the car...

Here's my sound clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-2EIGWN5cE
