Might sound like a dumb question but what exactly is the difference between a catback exhaust vs axle back? I have ford performance mufflers on now (axle back) and I think it sounds decent. I want to move up to Borla Atak cat back.
Now I know the actual mufflers will be much smaller and less restrictive than my current ones but so is borlas axle back system. The catback seems to be the same as the axle back with just more piping (leading up to the cats) this piping looks exactly the same as my stock piping. So I’m not sure what the difference would be. I saw another post saying there are resonators built into the stock piping, is that true? Probably explain this poorly but any help would be appreciated!
Tldr Should I just buy the axle backs instead of the cat backs, because the extra piping that comes with the cat backs seems to be the exact same as stock piping.
