Bassani or Corsa.

I have bassani and I love it!

My brother has Corsa on his GTO and it sounds badass.

Dont get magnaflow

We dyno'd cars a few weekends ago and

My car stock with bassani axleback dyno'd at 275 and my friends 05 GT stock with magnaflow axleback dyno'd AT 254

Yes this makes no sense to me. Something is off there.

For the original poster, our axle-back sounds like it's exactly what you’re looking for. It will provide a nice deep rumble, but mellow tone. You will also feel a nice difference in throttle response.

Here is the link for our axle-back

Feel free to pm me or call if you have any questions.

I just find it hard to swallow that I am going to have to pay over $500.00 for a muffler with a chrome extension and a curved piece of pipe on the other end of it. I mean good god how do people sleep at night, buy two flowmasters and spend a Sunday in the garage with a welder.

Man sure seems tuff to get a good sound out of the S197s. I think O/R H with the stock mufflers sounds the best. I have heard alot of sound clips. After that I would say SLP with stock H, catted H or Catted Prochamber. My buddy has a 05 with SLPs and it sounds real good in person. In my opinion the rest just don't have that mustang growl to them.

Exhaust

Just wanted to offer my experience:

1. Started with Mac axleback -- loud, some drone., nice at idle.
2. Then Magnaflow - quiet as stock, look good, strange sound.
3. Then O/R Pypes H pipe and Mac -- holy cow , really loud!!!!!! Too loud for me.
4. Then O/R Pypes H pipe and Magnaflow -- okay at WOT, not great at idle, very quiet inside.
5. Then O/R Pypes H pipe and stock axleback -- best sound at idle and good at WOT, doesn't look as good

Anyone have any luck with exhaust tips?

I had the Flows on the car with the stock H and that sounded good. Yes, it drones, but I don't care 99% of the time(when I wish it wasn't there is when you try and hold a conversation with the pasenger while going uphill at a constant speed).
After installing the O/R H, OMG did it get loud!!!!! I love the sound. Soon after was when the baffles gave up and sounded like total ****. So off came the Flows and back on with the stockers(sent my Flows back and got free replacements ). I can agree that combo sounds pretty darn good, but definitely not satisfying compared to the O/R H + Flows! It is by far a cheaper route getting the O/R H and some nice 3" or 4" tips for the stock mufflers and putting the several hundred dollars towards a set of headers.
