Axle upgrade...Help??

The seal is going out on my right rear axle and I am going to have s performance shop tear it apart.

Since the whole thing is going to be torn apart i am going to build it up

i am going to put an Auburn Pro Diff and a set of ford Racing 3.55
What axles should i put in my stang?

i have the Cobra conversion on it so I have 5 lug axles already. I want to build my rear end up so it will hold around 600 horse for the future engine mods.

I know strange axles are good but dont want to spend more than 350 bucks.

Left out a point about the auburn.. it accepts 31 spline axles.

Did you look into Moser axles???
Are you sure about the Auburn diff??? Just letting you know(if you didn't)that they are not rebuildable.

I'd go with a 31 spline out of an F150, Expedition, etc. You can rebuild those when the clutches wear out.

I just checked out moser and I think i am going to go with their 31 spline axles ( $295 for a pair) and with their Ring and pinion gears ( 160) compared to ford racing 175. Moser's look better too.

now if i could only find an Auburn pro under 400.

You can get Ford Racing ring and pinion gears at Stangstore.com for $149.99 and I believe that is shipped to your door. Mine came in 2 days! I'm big on staying powered by Ford, and their gear sets are the best...

the f150's and explorer difs are limited slip?? what years should i look for?

If that is what it will accept then that is the spline of the axel you will have to go with.

Go with the eaton diff, price match summit with national drivetrain, I paid $365 for the eaton, nice piece, 31 spline and rebuildable. Check mustangs unlimited too, just checked www.mustangsunlimited.com and found the 31 spline eaton for $330

FWIW, I did the eaton last year with the moser axle/c-clip eliminator package, happy with quality of everything.
