Hey Guys,

Today, I Installed my B&M hammer automatic shifter.. and after i got it installed, im having some major issues.

My interlock mechanism is having issues now. The shifter moves without the brake being engaged. The Interlock cable has a lot of slack in it and i think i may have pulled too hard on it

And the gears are off, i adjusted the cable under the car but i cant get it to go into park.. in park the car is in reverse and SOMETIMES it goes into park when i jam it really hard. and when i put it into 1st the car stays in 1st when it says 1st and when i click it once. i have to click it twice to get it to go to second. all the gears are just a little off, ive heard the cable is a little too short, how can i fix this?

Yup this is how they are on all are cars at first. You have to bend the linkage that the cable connects to give it enough room to go into park.

yea, this is fun!

push the transmission all the way forward into the park position.
then push the hammer shifter all the way into the park position.

then hook up the cable.that way you can at least start the car in park. the cable is litterally 1mm too short. you may have to slam on the shifter to get it into park then the car starts!

also the brake linkage cable, your talking about that little silver line right? mine does the same issue, its hanging on to the shifter but its kinda loose. I was worried about that too. you can shift the car into any gear without your foot on the brake or keys in the ignition. I had a pro shop look at it, and they said it was ok.

OR you can have a machinist make you a part that will give you that extra bit of slack if you dont want to fight with it.
