I called up probably the best local place to have some 4.10's installed. All the place does are gears n axles. But since I didnt buy the gears from them they wont warranty it. Also charge $425 for the install. I guess I'll try talking to some generic garages and off road shops... amnit:

hey to break it to you, but a lot of places are like that. unless you buy the parts from them, there's minimal chances of a warranty.

Not only that, if you don't buy the parts from them, the labor prices usually go up with many places.

Most shops in my area won't even install parts you don't by from them. And the one's that do, charge at least 50% more in labor.

More about gears..

Anyone know of a reputable AND REASONABLE place to do rearend work in the East Tennessee area? I am thinking about doing it myself but have no clue how...yet(haven't researched it) I am planning on 3.55's, 31spline axles, auburn pro diff and stud girdle. I can get the parts for right around a grand and would like to not spend much more on the install. I would also like to be involved with the install. If I don't do it myself I would like to be a part of it. That's the only way I'm gonna learn anything. I also have none of the specialty tools for the job. Any advice/offers???? P.S....Willing to drive a little to save/learn a little.
