found this on the aussie forum i am part of.

http://www.fordforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11298&viewer=1

it is a link to 5.4 3v aussie edition. same motor just aluminum intake. he added just exhaust... and it is an auto

204 rwkw =274+ rwhp (auto)

7500 n-m torque = a hell of a lot.

notice HP still climbing at end of pull.

just add some simple mods and wellah and auto making 300 rwhp. to start.

this may make more than i thought. i think ford underrated it quite a bit.

That graph looks kinda greek to me lol, but it looks like the exhaust gained a CRAP LOAD of power. Why not have it simple like ours? Same #s on both sides of the graph...SAE american metrics rock! And where is the RPM? I can see where 5250 is, but that looks like its turning 7K+. Nice err #s anyways!

yeah they are funny.

i read the rest of the posts.

he revved it to their 5300 rpm redline

274 rwhp and how ever much torque.

he ran it in second gear. the power was still climbing.
i am still making less than you.
i doubt pullies, headers, tune, and intake are getting me much.

what a power gain losing the stock after manifold exhaust. notice it lost bottom end.. all of it below maybe 3000. that is one thing the ford engineer told me. it is sensative to exhaust. wrong set up and it loses its a$$. i will have to experiment just like you. extensions and collectors. at the track though. i think i am going to cam it last though. full combo before. i hate to waste that kind of money.

^ yea....your 5.4 is making less than mine? or that 5.4 in the falcon? Im sure yours will be WAY more powerful than mine..but being untuned and not really dialed in, then maybe not. About how much is your car making right now?

BTW I was looking under the car, and i REALLY doubt I can do stepped LTs. Its VERY VERY tight as it is right now. It would most definatly have to go around the steering shaft, buts its just so darn tight in there. I may be able to do the header extentions though. Myabe I can do that on my 66...im sure that 331 would like stepped headers :D.

LOL. You know, I bet 400RWHP wouldnt be too hard to pull out of that engine if you port the heads and have some big cams. You have a power goal for it, or just make sure its faster than nost LS1s?

And back on topic...how bout that dyno! It almost reminds me of a mustang dyno, sure its not one?

Hi all Mick here from Vic, Australia, certain a bit of a thread mine here on my behalf- however I wanted to clear up that ford Australia used 2 versions of the modular V8 back then. The first being basically a crated motor as used in your early 2000 model triton trucks with 3 valve heads and VCT. This made 220 kw at the engine standard with our specs and tune. Then the one this thred is referring to used the same 5.4 triton truck bottom end but was equipped with cobra r type tein cam beads , so quadcam 4.6 4 valve heads, so twin cams per bank . This motor had a special tunnel ram type efi manifold adapted for it and is a pig down low In the rev range but a performer up from 3000+ rpm. This motor installed in an Xr8 produced 260kw at the motor from factory. There is also a high comp semi blueprinted and balanced 290 kw version. Any ways we are now using the 5.0 coyote , supercharged in our falcons producing 335kw at top spec. Cheers
