Hey Guys, im having this problem almost since I installed the msd dis-4, (I dont think is the ignition since it was working just fine for 2 weeks) on my 96 gt, from time to time it gives me alot of trouble to start, it will just like try an try, and i start smelling fuel, after probably 30 tries, it does an exhaust explosion and if i try a few more times it finally starts. I am wondering what could it be, could the gas station people be selling bad gas (fuel/water) i say this because its a CITGO gas station, in a good neigborhood, and its $2.25 (93 octane), thats the cheapest ive found. I also thought about the fuel pump being damaged, or maybe de injectors. Someone else also sugested that the coil packs went bad and i should replace them. This morning I changed fuel filter and added a stp fuel additive to the gas tank to see if that may help. PLEASE guys try to help me.

2 things, could be a bad Dis-4, mine went tits-up at the end of last year. second, did you install the 8912 tach adapters? if not you will need these for the unit to operate correctly.

how many miles and is your car stock? if so the DIS4 is a huge waste of money as you will gain absolutely nothing but headaches.. bypass it and see if the car starts normal. if so there is your answer. you can send it back to MSD for repairs and then sell it....
