I have a misfire in cylinder 8. Dumb question but on a 2000 GT, that is the one in the rear on the driver side. (Nearist to the driver) Correct? Thanks.

correct - it's cylinder #1 on the pass side, front of the engine...1-4 on that side, then 5-8 on the driver's side, front to back. And just FYI - the firing order, same as my old 351C, is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

Thank you. and BTW, it stopped missing then stated again and stopped. I thin either the plug may be bad or the coil has dirt on it or could be bad itself. Not sure yet.

Air, fuel, or spark. start checking which one it is. start it in the dark and see if there's a spark comming from one of the (wires)

Yeah yeah yeah.. coil-over-plug wires (and boots) if you want to be correct. just try it, might save you a compression test.
