bad news... well for me anyways.

Why don't you just stick with something for once and be done with it. Or do you like ripping your motor apart all the time?? Any turbo mustang is going to blow a HG from time to time. I don't think there is a guy on turbomustangs.com that hasn't blown a HG. Its just part of the game. Also, what do you expect when you're driving around without a dyno tune.

This is what I would do: Get your head fixed, put in some cometic HG's and trailer the car to a dyno and get a really safe tune. Then have fun. Why scrap the whole project??

Anyways, I hope the best for ya.
wow you sounded like a complete ass right there. Heres some reasons why I'm not putting the turbo back on the car RIGHT NOW.

1. Full time college (15 credit hours) and work full time.
2. My car is myt DAILY DRIVER which means... if I dont have a car, I dont go anywhere... I cant wait a week or two to fix my heads and put them back on.
3. Why RISK blowing the HG again even with a tune, when the stock ones will have to come back off when I put the TW back on. And when the heads come off, so do the headers so its not like I'm making more work for myself, just playing it safe.

I want to see ANYONE on here build their own turbo kit, with a $225 a week paycheck, work full time, go to college full time, while trying to matain above a 3.0 GPA to keep a scholarship so I can continue going to college. I've put forth way more effort than most of the people on here to make my car what it is now, and sometimes it doesnt work out. My heads have allready bene planned because they were warped before, which could have been that way when I bought them.

No I do not enjoy ripping my car apart becuse everytime I do it costs $$$ and a lot of my time. I hate doing repair work, but guess what, **** happens and theres nothing you can do about it once its said and done.

Mikes car didnt last long until he blew holes in his pistons, but he has an 01 GT to drive around, I DONT. I got lucky that the only damage was done to my heads so I can still drive my car from A to B. I guess thats the point some of you are missing. Its easy to say do something, so why dont you try it out for yourself and see what its really like.

The whole project is not scrapped, its just put on hold until A: I find another DD, or B: Find an old notch just for the track.

I'm in the same boat for college, except I don't have any time for a job until breaks. I'm taking 19 credit hours, and one class which is worth 6 credits requires about 4 hours of out of class work each night and costs alot of $$ cuz it is a design lab where I have to build prototypes that usually cost around $200 for each project or more. Also, the only way I can afford the $25,000 a year cost for school is scholarships, which all have the 3.0 GPA requirement you were talking about. So don't feel like you're the only one on here in that boat, I have to buy everything for my car, and have to do all the work myself cuz I can't afford to have someone do it, just like yourself. All that and I'll have the $10,000 loan for the car payed off in 2 years (it was a 3 year loan), and that is with a massive $280 maximum paycheck each week during about 6 months of the year. Not tryin to argue for sure, but you arent the only one on here with money probs. I do give you alot of props for the ambition to do the turbo kit, and you did a great job, just need to wait till you have a beater to drive like you said.

I know I'm not the only one in this position, but a lot of people on here just assume that everyone is rich and can afford everything they want and can do whatever they want to their cars and not worry about a thing. Like I said... Its easy to say something, but another thing to do it. I know what you're going throuhg Dan, and its basically the same for me and its tough just to make it from week to week. My hat goes off to everyone who works full time, goes to college full time, and still manages to have somewhat of a life because its very hard.
And a group purchase on a festiva does sound nice :D

Yea, I know what you mean. I posted pics of some stuff I did a while ago during breaks (some underbody stuff and some engine bay stuff), and then I got the response from somebody "you shoulda gotten aftermarket UCA's and LCA's." well yea, of course I would like to, but I needed money to make my car payment and insurance payment that month lol.

NOPE! The cool place that I hang out at is FordFestiva.com, check it out, my user name is on_ice. Those lil festivas are pretty sweet, swap a b6t into it for like $750 and run 13s and still get 36+ mpg.

Its OK Kevin.....................we understand................................Kinda

Maybe you shoulda not told us that stuff
