My car has had some bad luck lately... While turning left, I clipped the curb of a median and it tore a hole in the sidewall. After puting my other set of rims on (which have newer tires and rims are perfectly round), I've been getting some bad vibrations while accelerating. Is it possible that the rearend could have shifted enough (laterally) that it messed up the driveshaft flange in the rear, or even the pinion?

Your old wheels still balanced out? Hows the balancer?

Check the balancer to make sure the rubber seal hasn't "walked"/moved at all.

Did you curb-check the front or rear tire?

Unless you slammed the crap out of it, I don't think the rear end would have shifted.
