Has anyone used the Baer disc brake sets front and/or rear. I am looking towards them to redo the brakes on my 1967 coupe.

I haven't personally, but they are good brakes, and they will work for your app.

Excellent Brakes. I have seen several sets installed and they are a part of my upgrade list for my 65 fastback...

I have them on the front. Great brakes! Complete kit,easy to install & the people are really nice. I live in Phoenix so I took one of my wheels down there and told them to stuff as much brake as possible into it. They gave me a complete tour of the place,showed me all of the options and really took their time to help me. When I do the rear I will use them again. I lot of brake for the price as compared to other companies.

I have them front and rear. No complaints.

I only still aim to add power to them to realize their full potential. I'm currently mashing them manually.

I have them on my 66, great brakes. Very simple installation, replacement pads are 84 vette (IIRC) available at autozone. (Lifetime warranty)

I just installed 13" fronts on my '65 this weekend. My kit came from Classic Tube. I was very impressed with the components and how smoothly it all came together. Good directions too. I also like having a seperate rotor and hub like a late model now. It stops sooooo much better than my old drums !!! My wife will actually drive it now Now I just gotta get the rears done. I took the car to a cruise in Saturday evening, and got alot of nice feedback !! Good luck !

manual w/Baer

I've seen this question answered in theory before, but wanted to ask you: how well does it stop with manual/Baer disc? Reason I ask is because I want to go 13" Baer Tracker front disc, and use their m/c and an adjustable proportioning valve to make it work with my rear drum. I'm coming from all manual drum brakes. Then I'll go to disc rear, then to power, in stages.
Is it a real mash job to stop manually with Baers? Do you have a higher volume m/c to go with them? I don't drive my car daily, but do get some around-town traffic and don't want to end up rear ending someone because I haven't been doing my squats.

Unrelated to this post: I plan on going with www.streetortrack.com too - good price and they're local to me.

It's really all about perspective. I went from all drums also. Perspective meaning that in compared to a modern card with power assist.... YES.. it's mashing the pedal. But are you more likely to get tired with traffic driving? You shouldn't. Do it like you said... in stages. You'll be fine.

my 65 has Front ( not baer but since i'm getting some new wheels and a paint job i'm looking into some nice 13" baers' ) ssbc discs, and aluminum calipers, i would be scared of the stopping power my car would have with a power booster..it stops surprisingly well for how heavy it is with manual brakes, but then again my friends who have new cars are always scared to death of the brake pedal because they say 'it doesn't stop when i want it to' so it really matters. i have no problem stopping in my 65, but other people do. i guess you could just .. do some squats then just use the brake pedal as your exercise lol.

I love my Baers! That is, when I got to drive the car with them on. Great package, went on with absolutely no issues. I went with 12" sport kit... thought that was about what i'd ever need. I didn't use the proportioning valve since I still had the rear drums, worked like a charm. Will add it though when I go to disks in the back. If you can... summit at one point carried a baer kit, but sans master cylinder. If you can find it, ask for a 94/95 mustang one at the parts store and it's the same one... if I would have remembered would have saved a chunk of change.
Yeah, the pads will have lots of options because both vettes and mustangs used to calipers at one point. Also any rebuild kits can be had at the parts store plus both dealers. If I remember I will post at least the AZ part numbers when I get home tonight
Does anyone know what kind of vehicle I might look for for new rotors... just dreading haveing to buy replacement rotors from them later on. Anyone know if aftermarket or stock cobra rotors or anything cross reference to them?

Edit: If you feel ashamed looking up parts for the stang by asking for chebby parts, ask for pads for an '03 cobra.
Az part number:
MKD412-14.99 (if ya wanna cheap out, then why'd you by Baers?)
412C- 44.99 (ceramic pads, pretty good, won't squeak/dust)
0412-20- 60.99 (PFC carbon-metallic, really good pad, lots of road race and autox guys use them for cheap decent pads, mind you for racing... and I think that price is wrong)

I thought I had read a few things about people saying the baer master cylinder wouldn't fit on a car with a power booster and shock towers. Didn't someone say baer told them to take a hammer to their shock tower?

I don't think it will fit with the stock booster.. if you use one I think the 4 cyl fox body one will fit. if I remember I think I measured it and it was close but fit. At least in my '70
