Getting ready to install a Pertronix setup in my buddy's 66 GT. Is there a ballast resistor installed from the factory, and if so, where is it at? Just want to cover all the bases before i do this for him. I have installed them on GM cars, but not a 'stang. Thanks for any help,

Brian

The wire powering the coil IS the ballest resistor. So if that coil you are installing requires no ballast resistor you will have to run a new wire from the ignition switch to the coil. otherwise its just plug 'n play

The ballast resistor wire is in the coil power path but it's actually in the dash wiring and connected directly to the mating plug to the engine harness. Look for the fat pink wire. Either run a new wire from the igniton switch or use a relay switched by the original coil wire and powered directly from the battery.
