BANGING TRANNY?

What does it mean when I put the car into drive it bangs into gear forward and reverse? Engine mounts?....U -joints?.... Tranny mounts?.

hollow clunk would be u-joints.

dull thud would be mounts. If the thud is right beneath the console, its the tranny mount. up front would be a motor mount.

guess i woke up with my mind in the gutter lol.... check the u joints, are you getting any momentium when engauged in gear?
