i am thinking about getting either a dr.x or a prochamber with bassani mufflers, but i am not sure.

i cannot find any good videos or sound clips of a car with bassani mufflers. i have heard the three on mustangexhaust.com, but it is hard to tell from those. does anyone have a video or even a sound clip of their bassani mufflers????

also, the bassani website doesn't tell much. what diff. mufflers do they have?? i know they have the quiet thunder, but what else? i want them roughly as loud as 2 chamber flows. i have 3 chamber flows right now and want something louder.

I'm currently running the following combo:

1. MAC Ceramic Coated LT's
2. Dr. Gas X-pipe (offroad)
3. Bassani BX mufflers (welded in place of my 3 chamber flows /Force II Catback)

The Dr. Gas gives the car the Daytona/ Nascar exotic sound... While the Bassani's give it a nice higher pitched (than flows) powerful sound. Its real hard to explain, but the car sounds real mean at idle with my cam... and seems moderately loud at medium throttle... but at WOT, all hell breaks loose... Makes your heart race, and you have this sudden urge to scan for cops...

I wish I had a clip, but I just don't have a mic for my laptop...

From what I was told by Bassani ( I work down the street from them), they are the exact same muffler as their quiet thunder, with stainless internals, and endcaps. They just use Aluminized steel as the outer wrap, to bring costs down. They assured me the sound is exactly the same.

If you ever seen a Bassani Quiet Thunder Catback, they come with removable baffles in the tailpipes to cancel out sound levels... when removed, its freakin loud... Well, when you buy just their mufflers, you don't have the baffles..

I purchased the 2-1/2 OFFSET X 2-1/2" OFFSET mufflers, and since my Flows were made like that... and they went right in.. Just make sure you let the shop ordering know, so they can sell you a left and a right... only reason for this, is to ensure the 1 welded seam is on top of the muffler, when welded...

Call Fairway Ford, Sport & Performance.. I paid $92.00 each..

so would you say that these mufflers are louder than 3 cham. flows? i have 3 chambers with a bbk o/r h and stock headers and i want to get longtubes, which means i need a new midpipe and i want it a little louder too, so i plan i getting new mufflers.

is it worth getting the quiet thunders or bx series? are quiet thunder all stainless? i wonder how much more they cost?

did you have the same headers and x with the 3 chambers? if so, how would you compare the sound and loudness with the bassani's?

what did you mean by getting a right and a left for welding reasons? you still have to weld it all the way around the pipe, so whats the diff? did the shop have to add any pipeing to the flow cat-back for the bassani's to fit good?

The Prochamber would probably sound pretty good and loud. I am running an off-road H with a Bassani cat-back and the car sounded like I picked up 100 hp. It just sounded meaner and deeper than the previous Flowmasters. Bassani is definately the way to go.

i still need a video to prove to me that they don't sound the same as flows, b/c the only clips i have heard are the ones on the other bassani post and they sound the same as flows. i'm guessing that those clips are with an h-pipe though and i think i would either get an x or maybe a prochamber.

I had shorties, BBK Hpipe, and 3 chamber catback as my last combo... so no I didn't have a good comparison... But, since Flowmasters are chambered mufflers, and Bassani's are not, I'm gonna venture and say that they are louder. Plus I have a few friends with Bassani catbacks, and they are all pretty loud.... and way louder than my old setup.

The regular Quiet thunder Mufflers that come in their catback kits are only made to order, and have no real part numbers associated with them... They also sell from $180 a piece, and can only be purchased directly from them... They sound the same, so don't waste the money...

Also, I'm just anal about things that go on my car.. so when I say order a left and right.. I'm talking about the welded seam that goes from one end of the muffler to the other.. They only weld them with one seam length wise, which happens to be right down the center of one side.... I wanted the seam to go on top, so since they are offset type mufflers, and have an inlet and outlet, you need a left and right to ensure the seam is not seen from under the car... lame I know.. but I'm an engineer, so I wouldn't be able to sleep at night...

With this new setup, my car just screams... it is almost way too loud for me, but since this isn't my daily ride, I can deal with it... Plus, everytime I drive the car, I can't get the smile off my face....

i see what you are saying now. yeah i am an engineering student, so i am very anal about things like that too. That is why i am worried about how everything will look when they have to cut my perfectly new flowmaster catback and weld diff. mufflers in. especially when the flowmaster catbacks have the flow tubes already neatly connected to their mufflers.

I wish I could post the before and after video of my car that I did during my Bassani install. I watched the video a few days ago since I have been with out my Stang for 6 months (stupid winter) and the sound is very different.

Bassani Owns...plain and simple. I'm just running the BX series and it sounds like a monster. Not just loud like my crappy macs did...but my bassanis sound genuinely great.
