Hello everyone I need a bit of help with a battery problem. Currently I'm overseas and my 03 GT is in storage in FL. My daughter has been starting the car and driving it once a week. Recently she said the car wouldn't start. After jumping the battery it was fine for another week but now she says it was dead once more. She contacted me this morning and this time it was dead again after just 2 days. Does this sound like a battery issue or something else? The battery is only a year old bought from Ford. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

1999 up cars and trucks have had issues wth a switch in the door latch sticking...this switch operates the interior dome light...have her check to sea if it's staying on...if it is, have someone pull the bulb out till you can get home and get it fixxed

Igors92:

In addition to what Randy said, I suggest hooking up a "Battery Tender" that will keep the battery healthy over the months that you are away. I know your daughter is probably not going to hook it with the permanent plug connector but she could put the alligator clips on the battery terminals and plug the B/T into the wall outlet. It will trickle charge and not over charge the battery. Motorcycle guys use these things to keep their batteries fresh over the cold months. With the B/T hooked up, your daughter would not have to drive the car every week (although that is not a bad idea at all).

If you're in the military (you're in Norway, right), thanks for your service, too!

Chris

That's a really good idea if the car is parked in a garage or something. I let a friend borrow mine and probably will never see it again. But trickle chargers are nice.
