Battery Relo. ?

I've been reading up on a battery relo. install. What I haven't gathered is what do you do with the two leads that plug into the little terminal posts on the front of the solonoid? Where do they get routed to? Also, can someone elaborate on the late model starter install to eliminate the solonoid?
