Battery Voltage Indicator Gauge

Hello,

I am in the process of purchasing a 1990 GT 5.0 and the battery gauge seems a tad low to me. Does anyone know if this is a normal reading? Thanks!

- When driving, mine is at the “M”.

- When key on/engine off it is where yours is in the photo

Use a digital voltmeter and measure voltage at the solenoid to ground. What to do you get?

Mine typically points to the RM area when driving

Mine is at the "M" when idling and cold
with Key on engine off im just under the "A"

Fox gauges are notoriously inaccurate. I would have the alternator/battery tested before coming to any definitive conclusions.

To let everyone know, there was a short in my fuse box causing the erratic gauge readings. I had to completely rewire the fuse box to eliminate this. At one point my tach and speedometer also went out but the rewiring fixed the issue.
