Why waste time money and effort on something thats not the best performance wise. LTs cost just a bit more and are so much better.

Not everyone has the luxury of getting long tubes. For example, where I live, shorties are the only option, on top of that, only specific shorties.

So many people have gotten away with it i am sure if you do some homework and meet some people you wont have a problem "passing emissions or whatever."
or loudness
either way it is a bad excuse to not get the better option.
Just my opinion sorry if i hurt your feelings

So just because it's your only option you are going to spend all that money for no gain....don't make any sense to me

You can get more HP to the wheels by switching to synthetic fluids during your next oil change for a whole lot less time, trouble, and money

In some states underhood inspections are done to look for modifications during emission tests. Many products are accepted mods in states like CA, but they require a CARB data label to be visible somewhere so the inspector can accept the changes.

Long tubes may move the O2 sensors to an unaccepted location as opposed to shorty tube headers. And so, they may not be accepted. You live by the rules, or make unapproved changes and take your chances.

No feelings hurt here. I never said shorties were the best option, nor did I say they would be better over long tubes.

What works for some people in different areas doesn't mean it can apply out here. Especially when it comes to emissions. If you wan't to pay someone the extra money each year you need to get smogged, then more power to you, if not, then not.

My post wasn't made to take a shot at anyone's opinion, just stating that not everyone has that option, or wishes to take it due to the potential consequences.

If you can't go with longtubes your money can be better spent elswhere.
a few more ponies is not worth the time and money you will spend buying and installing those headers.

What about the BBk tuned length headers they give the exhaust gases more room to breath similar to LT's.
