I just got a set of headers off ebay 75$ shipped used but in good condition. My problem is there is a dent on one of the tubes on the passenger side. Is this somthing that you have to do in order for them to fit . I want to know if this will affect the power gain or not. It is a small dent but I know this did not come from the factory like this. why would this have been done and will this affect my power gain.

No, while they are a very tight fit, they will clear without modification. The dent must have been accidental. At the most you might have to swap in a fresh set of motor mounts, as older ones may "sag" and cause clearance issues.

As far as affecting performance, that depends on how big the dent is. A small one probably won't cause any measurable effect.

so the motor mount is why the header might have been dented. It is not a big dent, it might be a 1/4 of an inch max with a straight edge on it. I have seen worse but it was for clearing the steering rack on the drivers side not passenger.

Wee you aware of this dent? I would be bitchin. To me, 1/4 inch would be alot for one exhaust port

so I am going to go with 1/8 OF AN INCH AFTER FURTHER REVIEW. I don't know what to do I only paid 75$ and they retail for 209$. What would you do, is it bad enough that it would not be worth installing or would you still intall them.

The effect on performance is going to be super super small if any. Stop worrying, slap em on there and enjoy.

yeah its no biggie, its just like putting a 1/4 inch restrictor plate in one of your exhaust ports so that particular cylinder isnt up to par with the rest. In fact some people port 7 intake holes and leave one the way it is becuase it doesnt effect performance.
