Installed the 75mm TB along with my GT40 intake this weekend. I also installed the BKK EGR spacer and C&L inlet pipe also.
Just wanted to say that I do not have any TB whistle at low speeds or idle. I did notice a slight whistle when I first start the engine but it is very brief and only at start up.

I didn't think a gt40 intake had a 75mm opening.

It is the tubular gt40 intake, it is 75mm.

Correction my GT40 and TB are 70mm.....i mispoke on the 75mm guess.

Just an update...ShortThrow50.....You Were Right!!!! The whislte appeared after I adjusted the TB idle screw. It is annoying and it seems to want to whistle right where the idle should be set. What a POS! I removed the TB and used sandpaper and dremel polishing wheel to smooth out the AIC chambers. I also put some 1 to 2mm radii on the hole before and after the TB blade. I am hoping the radii will smooth the airflow across the openings and prevent the whistling. I should have the car running agian this weekend and we shall see if the notorious whislte is gone!

Park a bunch of Mustangs together with BBK TB's and you can have a whistling contest...

See the "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. Everything you need to find and fix idle problems is in there.

The correct procedure to set the base idle speed is in the sticky...

so what does that say about bbk?

My buddies BBk did the same thing as soon has the idle was adjusted, once we turned it down it went away put the idle where it needed to be and it whistled . I bought a FRPP 65mm installed it, adjusted everything no whistle, he was pissed

mine did, and still does. but i couldn't see spending the money for an accufab when i'm just gonna sell the car.

Yeah.. If I were designing a product I would never release it if it had a known flaw. Hopefully I fixed it, we shall see.... If not than eBay might be the best place for my bbk!

let us know if what you did fixed it, mine sounds horrible whenever i try to take off at a decent pace.

btw, i had a holley 70mm before i bought my used bbk 65mm unit, it was even more junk than the bbk, the throttle blade would get stuck open, and no amount of cable rerouting would take care of it. the only tb ive never had problems with has been the stock ford one.

It still whistles, the channel polishing and radii added to the holes didn't fix the whistle. The problem is that idle should be set right where it wants to start whistling, just like greensvt21 said. I even installed a new air idle control motor at the time thinking that it may help...no dice.
I guess I will have to spring for the accufab.....the BBK is going to e-bay....one mans trash is another man's treasure!

I did pull the TB off one more time and try to polish it up. This time I used the dremel a lot more and tried to make the radii as large as the dremel would allow. It was kind of hard to fish the dremel into the right position but I did make the radii a lot larger. I also used a small ball nose mill dremel attachment to polish out the IAC cavity a bit. So the results.....the whistle at idle is totally gone but now it has a slight whistle/chirp at tip in throttle. I was able to set idle to 600 rpm w spout& IAC unplugged with no whistle....but now I am back to square one with this dam tip in throttle whistle. What a piece of work..thanks BBK.
Additionally, I just installed a BBK FPR and I would also not recommend this BBK item also. The FPR immediately drops to 0 psi once the FP is deactivated. I can hook up a gauge, turn off the engine and the pressure immediately plummets to 10 psi...then petters off from their. I am guessing they have no check ball valve in the thing or something.
I really have lost all faith in BBK and will not purchase any more of their products... Buyer Beware!

ask strype for advice, he loves bbk products and surely will have a reasonable explanation or something you're doing wrong that is causing the defect

BTW.....if I switch to another TB. My Gt-40 tubular intake is 70mm at the inlet. Does this mean I have to go 70mm or can I do a 65mm TB?

im running a 65mm tb with a tfs 70mm opening, works fine (other than the as mentioned tb whistle).
