Beginner Mods...?

GEARS will be your best seat of the pants feel mod and are worth every cent you put into them. I would save for them first and not put any $$ into other small mods yet. Get some n2o and you will really move and it will be safe for a stock motor with all the bells and whistles granted it is installed correctly. Those would have been my first 2 for sure if I had to do it all again.

sorry the reply took so long, workin all the time to try and get money for this stuff lol. i don't care AT ALL about what the car looks like, my only appearance thing is buying a new top because mine is 10 yrs old and leaks, but that's it. i plan to turbo it when i graduate from high school next may but the car will be street driven daily until i get married in a few years and HE can take care of the payments on a new car lol. after that i plan to go all out and make it a track car since i wont need it for daily use. but as of now i'm really just trying to make it as quick as possible while still being practical for daily use.

*edit*and of course it would be a bonus if i could keep up with my boyfriends car but i don't think i can till i get the turbo. AND about the higher octane gas, recently prices went down so i decided to splurge for the 93(i usually use 87) and it's a whole new car! i can't go back now lol...who knew it made such a difference

Well since you have an auto, and you don't want to start spending all kinds of money, I would skip the gears for now. The stock computer doesn't like new shift points in autos, so you'd need a new chip/shift kit, plus unless you know someone who knows what they're doing, I wouldn't touch them by yourself. For right now, if I were you, I would get a cat-back system (270 or so, thats what mine was), an offroad x-pipe (150), underdrive pullies (105), and adjust your timing to 14 degrees.

So now you're looking at 525, and thats all brand new. You could go the used route and pay much less. Make your bf and some friends of his do your exhaust work all in one day, it will be so much easier that way. It should take about 5-6 hours plus however long it takes them to eat the lunch that you buy them (you gotta, exhaust work is a PITA) total depending on if you don't strip or snap any bolts. The under drive pullies should take no more then 45 minutes even if you've never done it before.
