Beirut or Beer Pong??

What do you guys call it? I call it beirut and i absolutely hate when people call it beer pong!! It pisses me off beyond belief...And are you guys as into it as me?

I call it Beirut when you put the cup back into the original position but empty. When you dont do that and the cup is killed for the game I call it beer pong.

Just imagine the red beer cups set up like bowling pins. Then getting a ping pong ball and shooting them across the table and trying to make them in your opponents cups. Its fun stuff you crazy canadians should try it.

agreed...its what i live for...you guys play beirut with putting the cups back? thats wierd, ive never done that...beirut is where u shoot the balls with your hands, beer pong is with paddles...but people are dumb and dont know the difference...

I know with the paddles too but im just saying what around here, what eveyone calls it, even though you live 10 mins away from me. Most people call it beer pong still however. Paddles are also to hard for most drunk people.

It's the same dam n game.... people just are dumb and they dont know the difference.

Beer Pong (also known as Beirut) is an American drinking game that involves propelling a table tennis ball across a table with the aim of making the ball land in one of several cups of beer. The game generally involves two teams, each composed of two people. When a point is scored, the loser consumes the contents of the cup where the ball landed. When a team has scored in all of their opponents' cups, the game is won.

Aaron, basically, to start the game one person from each team shoots the ball at the same time towards the rack on the opposite side of the table while looking eye to eye...whoever makes it in, their team of 2 (or 3 for 21 cup ruit) gets to start...both players shoot at the cups at the opposite end trying to make them in...when u make it in, the other team takes the cup away and drinks the beer (like 1/4-1/3 cup full each)...if both players make it in, they get sendbacks and get to shoot again...if only one makes it, the other team gets the 2 (or 3 in 21 cup) and gets to shoot...if u bounce the ball instead of arcing it, and it goes in, it counts as 2 cups...the only thing about bouncing is that the opposite team is allowed to smack the ball away, whereas when shot with arc, they cannot...when it gets to the last cup for one team, if only one player on the team makes it in and the other misses, the other team gets one last chance to make the rest of teh cups in...if both players make that last cup, they automatically win....haha sry i havent played in like a week so im gettin all pumped now hahaha....give it a shot sometime, im sure your canadian asses will get addicted...

Its been beer pong since I've been drinking. The more I drink, the better I get... the same goes for darts.

Some "local" rules:
1. Only girls are allowed to blow (the balls out of the cup that is)
2. One bounce is allowed, after one the ball can be swatted away
3. Cups must be re-arranged after one is hit.
4. If both team members get the ball in, that teams gets to throw again.
5. The losing team gets redemption throws where they must sink all remaining cups plus one in a row in order to win.

Well its been beirut since ive been drinking HAHA which is a lot less time than you, but our rules are almost identical to yours...

1. Girls blow, guys finger haha
2. We get unlimited bounced but you can always swat them away, and they count for 2 cups if you make it on the bounce
3. if a cup(s) is hit and knocked over, its a "party foul" and however many cups are knocked over are to be consumed by the team who knocked them over...
4. Same...we call it sendbacks
5. The loosing team only gets redemption throws if only one of the winning teams players makes the last cup...if both hit the cup, its all over...

The silly canadian is right, we needa get a 94-95 beirut game going...

I was in your area last week Aaron. I guess I should have stopped by and showed you this, lol. If you're wondering, you can get trashed quicker by playing this vs. just standing around drinking.

I've never played with the "one bounce-swatting rule". That could get REALLY messy after a couple rounds, lol.

I have a friend that made a beer pong specific table. It's used more than the pool table. It has holes cut in it for the cups and is outdoor carpeted.
