I pulled the bell house off the tranmission to get ready to bolt the bell housing 5o the motor, and I notice the pass side dowel hole (that sits over the dowel on back of motor) has a broken off side.. pic below... will this be a issue? Or do I now need a new bell housing? I never noticed it when I pull the motor... :-(

I’d put the dowel in, it should still square it up. Double check the runout just to make sure.

The dowel is part of the motor, these slides over it, which it does, it just has a broken side...

It should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it. It would take half of the hole to be missing to cause an issue. Check around it for micro cracks. Should be fine.

The dowel isn't part of the engine. You can tap them out with a punch from the back side.
