Do you have to get a new smaller or larger belt when installing after market lighter pulleys....if so does anybody know if what the inches are.....

`i cant remebr what my 88 stock one way. i wanna say i have the 87 inch but i remebr i took the belt back and forth like 5times before i got the right size, which i think i ended up with an 89inch or something.....

ps.anybody know what 1/4 times to expect with an 88gt,with 2.2k trq converter,4.10's,pulleys,and gt40 intake?

lighter pullies? not sure what you mean here. are you talking about underdrive pullies? then yes your belt length will change. there are steel and aluminum UD pullies, but the gains come from the difference in the diameter and how much they have to turn the accessories because of it, not really the weight.

edit: i'm going to say 14.4 in the 1/4

a lot of people haven't noticed much with their UD pullies, but i felt a significant difference with mine. i have also felt much less of a difference than people claim with some of other mods that i have also done. imho, for the $$$ UD pullies were one of the best mods i've done so far, but a lot of people will disagree......... just my personal experience.

I am in complete agreement with you as for one of the best bang for the buck differences. They have been awesome for me. I am using Mac.

In Summits latest Catalog they have a project 5.0 and in Stage 1 they Did a Tune Up, a new Coil, U/D Pulleys, a CAI, a 75 MAF Meter, 2 1/2" Summit Exhaust, Adj Clutch Quadrant, and a Shifter... Net Gain 11.7 HP and 5.5 Ft Lbs of Torque!!! I believe they lost power with the CAI and MAF Meter as the Tune Up and Pulleys alone should have netted that kind of power. In fact the Entire Write Up kind sucks as they throw alot of stuff at it in Stage 3 including the Trick Flow top end Kit and still manage to only get to 275 HP.
