on my D&D's from the centre of the strut to the edge of the lower plate is ~3". Now my car isn't aligned yet but I did a visual alignment (camber is slightly negative) and I have ~.5" between the large lower plate and the fender.
How wide are the steeda's?

i haven't measured them, but you can see them in the pics. I checked out the D&D's a second ago, but i think i'd rather get new/shorter struts before i replace the 200 dollar items.... jmo

not to replace...

struts have nothing to do with this. it is the distance between the control arm and upper mounting point. this is controlled by the spring.

If you are close modify the steeda's... worst case you have them reinforced after... I wouldn't lose out in $200 when a cheap fix can be had...

THis is a very interestng thread for me. I have always had this problem with my drivers side wheel stickig out slightly from the fenderwell definitly more than the passenger side. I was with LoudToy lookin at my car and he noticed that my stock caster camber plates are both pushed all the way to the same side. If you are looking at the engine bay they are both all the way to the right. Which is why that one wheel sticks out. Im not sure why that is but im gonna take it in to get check out and ill probably pick up some MM Caster camber plates too.

Wow, I've never heard of anyone ordering Steeda's due to being on a budget, lol. Steeda isn't exactly cheap. Good luck, and let us know what the alignment guy says.

94-302-vert ... the diagram shows 4 different bushing placements for different length struts matched with different length springs... if the strut is shorter, doesn't that mean that the plate has to move less to achieve the same degree of change?

This is hard to visualise with out an aid....

Hmmmm....

Let me think about this as I type...

If you move theshims around from under to over the C&C plate, or vise versa are you really changing the geometry...

I am going to say no because if the C&C plate is cinched down and you move how much of the strut rod protrudes though it you do not change your alignment because the strut will still be along that same line only now it will be working in a different part of the stroke of the strut s you hit bumps.

I think you may need to trim the plate...

So is you camber too negative or positive? (top of the tire in the fender or out of the fender)?

NEGATIVE...
Camber -2.1*/-1.8* (both red)

the rims cant inside the fenders... the lower part of the rim sticks out.

i think the pic on page shows it well enough, and i have pic on there about how/where i would need to cut them. They're just brand new and cost me 160 bones, so i don't want to go cutting them if i dont have too, you know...
