can i take the driver side head off with out taking the lower intake off just undoing the bolts for that sidemaybe sliding it off

well got my combo all together and theres been this sticky valve i had i just thought it was sticking because there was no oil it would stick for only a second .its bent and my roller rocker wont stay alinied on it straight because every time the valve compresses it takes a sec to come back up and the roller rocker is loose the push rod gets slamed into it and it gets bent

also were do i find an exhaust valve for edelbrock heads

You're gonna have to take the lower intake off in order to get things to seal properly when you put it back together. The intake is designed to be pulled/torqued down evenly on both sides. So you won't be able to do what you suggest - I think there's even a chance you could break the intake doing it that way. Chances are slim in my opinion that you'd get it to seal. In any event, you'd never get a gasket in there - think about assembly.

The real question is how did the valve get bent? I can't remember the details of when you were putting it together, or if you've had it apart. Valves usually get bent because they've hit a piston. Do you have potential p to v clearance issues?

No sense in just replacing the valve until you find out why it got bent - and solve that problem too. Otherwise, you'll likely bend the new one.

Bent valves can cause all sorts of geometry issues. Can also damage the valve guide - are you gonna have the head - rest of the valves looked at? Like I said, whether you did it, or the previous guy did it, if there's one, there could be more.

Decided to go with the thicker gasket even though we told you not to, huh? Good luck with it - by the way, the accepted minimums are .080" intake; .100" exhaust - so at .070" you're still pushing your luck.

yes of course ill look at the rest
i had the car running fine of 7 cyl yesterday i think the rest are ok but i look to make shure

bent valve would be the reason i gotem so cheap though people are messed up i would still bought em if i known now i went through all this have to do it all over

the reason i still went with that head gasket is because thats what i was told to use from bennet racing and they really know there stuff so i trusted them

thanks micheal for the insite though you havent steered me wrong yet
