Bit of an oddball question, but bear with me on this.

What is the best sounding automotive noises OR cars in your opinion (it can be anything from wheel spin to dump valves)?

To get the ball rolling I'll nominate a few of mine

1. The high pitch wine of a blower Cobra with a V8 base line
2. TVR Griffith - awsome, sounds like thunder!
3. Triumph TR6 - straight 6 engine big exhausts
4. Ferrari V12 250LM - this makes the sort of sound to creame your pants over!!!!
5. Not quite Automotive although it has been fitted to a car, The Rolls Royce 27 litre twin supercharged V12 Merlin from the Spitfire

8000 HP Top Fueler burning 85% nitro at WOT off the starting line. Absolutely NOTHING compares, NOTHING!

U.M.

Can't wait until the end of this month either... I'll be at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals for the whole weekend!!

Oh... and I need to move this over to "Talk"...

Ditto...

Nothing compares to the sound NHRA top fuelers make going down the track...

I would say a 5.0 through an o/r h-pipe with dumped SLP's, but I'm biased. But the top-fuel dragsters sound tight when they are doing their burnout.

Although I don't have the ZR1 anymore, the sound of the LT5 DOHC motor
with headers and straight exhaust is one of THE BEST engine sounds in the history of automobiles. It will bring chills to your spine. And my LS1 with the
Corsa's sounds pretty good also.Check the Corsa's out:
