Prolly one of the 70's "hecho in mexico" 302 blocks... known as the Mexican block...


that is IF im reading ur question right... the strongest made ford factory block closests to a 5.0l???

Get a Mexican Block

They are supposed to have a higher nickel content and beefier web supports. My dad's 73 ranchero has a mexican block. My 70 Torino and 77 Granada did not. I think they are mostly in early 70's vehicles (probably more likely in trucks). You have to remove the intake manifold and find the "hecho en Mexico" casting in the middle of the lifter valley. Before they had aftermarket blocks, the mexican blocks where the ones that people stroked.

If you want the strongest Ford block, I would think you would want the R302, or the discontinued A-4, an updated version of the original Boss 302.
